I say hiiiii to my cat. He watches my mouth in- tently, says meow Outside, rain continues in- different. Erasing me. I haven’t looked in the mirror this morning yet fearing appearance Mottled clouds make way for sun. The rain soaks into deck planks. I count silver drops Ask the spider to come near Whisper in my ear The spider is consumed with her window corner, her fly All souls need some ob- session, some fly, some way to fill some gasping void What if this is all we got? Time to put on comfy pants. May there be time for comfort, warm bowls of steamed rice, wind gasping outside. The pond’s gray surface ripples; we silently compose poems.

Odysseus 01:21
In the land of Troy, where heroes dwell, Odysseus set sail, his story to tell, With his loyal crew, they faced the waves, But little they knew of the trials they'd brave. Odysseus, on a journey so grand, Through monsters and challenges, across the land, With Ithaca in sight, his heart beats strong, But the road ahead is rough and long. From the Cyclops' den to Circe's spell, Odysseus fought, his courage to quell, Through the land of the dead, he ventured deep, With his spirit unwavering, his resolve to keep. Odysseus, on a journey so grand, Through monsters and challenges, across the land, With Ithaca in sight, his heart beats strong, But the road ahead is rough and long. So here's to Odysseus, the hero so bold, In his epic tale, his legend's told, For his journey home, we raise a cheer, To the hero of heroes, forever near.

Yo, peeps, listen up, I gotta spill some truth, It's my own drama, my own blues, Not some gossip or news. My house is wrecked, it's a mess, Lost my pops, who ruled the rest. But now these suitors, they swarm like pests, Disrespecting, causing unrest. They feast and drink, act like kings, While my house crumbles, everything. Without Odysseus, we're all weaklings, Can't fight 'em off, it's so demeaning. I'd throw hands if I could, But I'm just a kid, misunderstood. Yo, this ain't right, it's all bad, My family's name, it's getting dragged. You should be ashamed, show some respect, Before the gods bring down their wrath, correct. I beg y'all, by Zeus, by the law, Stop this madness, what's it all for? Leave me alone with my pain and sorrow, Unless you want trouble, come tomorrow. If my dad wronged you, make it right, But don't punish me, it ain't tight. So back off, stop the strife, Or else I'll be fighting for my life.

SILENCE THE EYES! BECALM THE SENSES! Drive drooor from the fresh repugnance, thou whole, thou feeling creature. Live not for others but affect thyself from thy enhanced interior - believing what thou carry. Thy trillionic multitude of grahh, vhooshes, and silences. Oh you are heavier and dimmer than you know and more solid and full of pleasure. Grahhr! Grahhhr! Ghrahhhrrr! Ghrahhr. Grahhrrr.

Endlessly 02:00
Endless meadows only you can see, endless rocking of a boundless sea. Endless cups of golden tea, endlessly, you follow me. Endlessly, you dance with me, with endless shoes of poetry, in endless meadows only we can see, with the endless rocking of a boundless sea. Endlessly, you come to me with frothing mugs of poetry, the wisdom of humanity, which we swig knowingly. And endlessly, you run from me, so you can pee into the sea, and the brine of all Earth’s poetry is all that stays with me.

“Yo, listen up, y’all. I’m the one who brought us all together here. I ain’t tryna start no drama, but I gotta speak my truth. Somethin’ deep down’s cuttin’ me real bad. It ain’t ‘bout no army movin’ or some public stuff. Nah, this here’s personal. My crib’s in chaos, dealin’ with a double whammy. First off, I lost my pops, a real stand-up guy who used to hold it down for all y’all. And now? Now it’s worse. My whole world’s about to crumble. These suitors straight-up disrespectin’ my moms, goin’ against her wishes like they own the place. They ain’t showin’ no respect to the old ways, messin’ up our crib day and night, eatin’ and drinkin’ like there’s no tomorrow. And we ain’t got no one like Odysseus to step up and handle these fools. All I can do is speak my truth and hope y’all see the error of your ways before the gods come down on you hard. I’m beggin’ you, by the power of Zeus, and Themis, the goddess of justice, to end this madness. Spare me the pain of watchin’ my crib fall apart. Unless, of course, you think my pops did wrong, in which case, deal with him, not me. But right now, y’all just causin’ me grief, and I’m feelin’ helpless.”

Young Poet 01:26
He's certain he's destined for greatness, as a poet, no less, The signs all point to it, his soul's in distress. Lonely and sensitive, misunderstood by all, His emotions run deep, his thoughts, a free fall. He's ready to endure the pain, whatever it may take, For the muse demands sacrifice, every dream, every ache. The words of poets past, like flare guns in the night, Illuminate his path, casting shadows in their light. From the depths of literature, he inherits symbols old and worn, Yet he wields them with skill, like a lion, untamed and born. He trudges on through darkness, guided by stars' soft glow, His breath, like plumes of smoke, in the cold, swirling snow.
24.
gi, go, gi, go, breath-plumes lit by stars and snow. The words of the poets who came before him are flare guns burning holes in his darkness. From the history of literature, he has inherited hundreds of barrels of rusty symbolism. And he can turn a phrase, turn it into a lion, scratch it under the chin so it purrs, dissolve it in a shower of sparks. He trudges on, gi, go, gi, go, breath-plumes lit by stars and snow. gi, go, gi, go, breath-plumes lit by stars and snow. gi, go, gi, go, breath-plumes lit by stars and snow.

There is an island, Ogygia, lying far at sea, where the daughter of Atlas, Calypso, has her home, the seductive nymph with lovely braids —a danger too, and no one, god or mortal, dares approach her there. But I, cursed as I am, some power brought me to her hearth, alone, when Zeus with a white-hot bolt had crushed my racing warship down the wine-dark sea. There all the rest of my loyal shipmates died but I, locking my arms around my good ship’s keel, drifted along nine days. On the tenth, at dead of night, the gods cast me up on Ogygia, Calypso’s island, home of the dangerous nymph with glossy braids, and the goddess took me in, in all her kindness, welcomed me warmly, cherished me, even vowed to make me immortal, ageless, all my days but she never won the heart inside me, never.

(Verse 1) Here I stand before you, Nausicaa, princess divine, In your presence, I wonder, are you a goddess or a sign? If from the heavens above, Artemis you may be, Daughter of Zeus, in your grace, I see. (Chorus) But if mortal you are, blessed are your kin, Your father, your mother, and brothers, a win. To see you dance brings joy to their hearts, A beauty so rare, it sets me apart. (Verse 2) Blessed is the man who wins your hand, Leading you home, his bride, so grand. In all my days, I've never seen such grace, You captivate me in this enchanting space. (Chorus) I'm struck with wonder, you're like a palm tree sprout, In Delos, by Apollo's altar, that made me devout. Your presence, like a beacon, shines so bright, In awe, I stand before you, my plight. (Bridge) Just yesterday, from the wine-dark sea I fled, But torment follows me wherever I tread. Compassion, I plea, in my hour of need, Guide me to your city, provide me a heed. (Outro) May the gods grant you all your heart's desires, A loving husband, a home, and lasting fires. For in the unity of two souls, true glory lies, A beacon of hope, under Grecian skies.

We need backup! This is a hostage situation! Send in submarines! Send flowers! Doesn’t matter what kind! And bacon! And slot machines! Send drain pipes! And bagpipes! And a dozen ripe tangerines! Shut up, Lieutenant! I don’t need another one of your scenes! We need backup! This is a hostage situation! Send in green beans!
